The Plant Nutrition Research Group has been established since 2011 by Miroslav Nikolic. The group focuses on nutrient acquisition in the rhizosphere and utilization by plants as well as on plant responses to mineral stresses, from nutrient deficiency to the excess of essential and other mineral elements.
Our current research ranges from understanding the stress tolerance mechanisms of crops, with a special emphasis towards the alleviating roles of silicon, to developing new fertilization strategies and optimizing fertilizers application. We try to make significant contributions to science even if resources are limited.
We are looking forward to exchange ideas and data, particularly about the role of silicon in plant biology and agriculture, and to share a good deal of fun with those working with us.
